interesting stats. makes a mockery of fletcher's decision to start with giles. i'd go along with beefy botham's view that fletcher was pig-headed by not dropping him sooner.
a fully fit giles should be behind monty in the pecking order - to play him when he's been out for a year, in which time monty has taken 3 5-fors was nuts. the fact that we failed to take 20 wickets 3 times says it all. giles's career should be over. and after never getting a test duck, it was nice to see geraint jones bow out with a pair. another fletcher bits and pieces cricketer that isn't good enough at any discipline to warrant a start. it's time to start playing specialist players - chris reed and monty in, jones and giles out. |
About this blogSport is full of statistics - but few are analysed to make any sense. That''s my aim, and this blog is where I publish the longer pieces of research that I have done. I also have a more frequent blog about sports items in the news - the blogroll is below NOTE: Due to a host server upgrade and the Christmas break, I have been unable to blog. New Year, fresh start.
